Olga Sclovscaia
Olga Sclovscaia is the Head of Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), the political risk insurance and credit enhancement arm of the World Bank Group. Based in Frankfurt, she leads MIGA’s business development efforts across both regions, guiding teams to foster investment in complex and high-risk environments.
Ms. Sclovscaia joined MIGA in 2000 and has held several senior positions, including Global Head for Financial Institutions and Capital Markets from 2012 to 2019. During this time, she significantly expanded MIGA’s support for financial sector projects, particularly in response to the global financial crisis. She also pioneered MIGA’s first guarantee for a public bond issue, reflecting her innovative approach to development finance.
Before MIGA, she gained extensive private sector experience at ABN Amro Bank in Amsterdam, where she worked on structured finance and alternative risk distribution.
Ms. Sclovscaia holds Master’s degrees in International Finance (University of Amsterdam), Public Administration (University of Missouri), and Econometrics (Plekhanov Economic Academy, Moscow), bringing a comprehensive academic background to her leadership role in sustainable investment.
