Nabil Moura Kadri

Nabil Moura Kadri is the Head of Environment and the Amazon Fund at the Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES) in Brazil, where he oversees key programs aimed at promoting socio-environmental sustainability, including the Amazon Fund and the National Climate Change Fund. With 20 years of experience in public policy, Nabil specializes in designing and implementing initiatives that address environmental issues, support biodiversity, and advance the bioeconomy in the Amazon region.

At BNDES, he leads efforts to develop new financial products and attract international funding for projects focused on climate resilience and sustainable forestry. His work emphasizes blended finance mechanisms and partnerships that leverage resources to promote forest conservation and address climate change impacts.

Nabil holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation and has an extensive background in federal and state government roles, including with Brazil’s Ministry of Science and Technology and the São Paulo State Secretariat for Social Assistance. Since joining BNDES in 2008, he has served in various strategic roles, including positions in the Financial and Social Infrastructure divisions and as an advisor to the Board of Directors, building a strong foundation for his work in socio-environmental sustainability.
