Syaharani (Rani)

Syaharani (Rani) is a researcher at ICEL. She specializes in climate and energy advocacy and has been involved in the forming of climate-energy policies and working in initiatives that bring forth climate change into the realms of good environmental and energy governance. She is involved in the Just Transition Working Group of Indonesian JETP as ICEL’s representative and has been advocating the enactment of Indonesian Renewable Energy Bill. Her research also touch on the improvement of energy transition enabling conditions in Indonesia, mainstreaming energy transition within environmental instruments and development planning particularly in coal-dependent region, and has assisted the National Human Rights Commission in developing recommendations on human rights approach to energy transition.
