Ati Viviam Villafaña
Latin American Youth Climate ScholarshipAti Viviam Villafaña is an indigenous member of the Arhuaco people of Colombia, linked to the Cabildo Arhuaco Magdalena-Guajira and a political scientist at the Javeriana University. She has a deep interest in the care of the country's biodiversity from her Arhuaco perspective, which has led her to be linked to important organizations such as the Humboldt Institute and the NGO Climalab. She has participated in international spaces alongside leaders such as Malala Yousafzai, Greta Thunberg, Vanessa Nakate and Tori Tsui. In 2020, she participated in “Unite for Climate Action” and later in “Building Bridges for Climate Action”. Currently, she is program coordinator and co-founder of the Latin American Youth Climate Scholarship, which engages 12 young people from Latin America in UN climate change conferences.
Her career has been recognized by Forbes Colombia as one of the 100 most important women in Colombia and by Forbes Mexico as one of the 100 Latinos most committed to climate action in 2023.
