Eva Kracht
Federal Ministry for the Environment (BMUV)Eva Kracht studied law in Heidelberg and Cologne. She completed an LLM programme at the School for Oriental and African Studies, London, and a PhD at Bonn University, focussing on international environmental law.
She joined the Federal Environment Ministry in 2003, working on constitutional reform. In 2005/2006, she was a personal assistant to Ministers Trittin and Gabriel. From 2006, she worked in the unit for EU coordination, which she headed since 2011. From July 2016 until May 2018, she was Deputy Director General for European and International Policy and from May 2018 until June 2022 she was Deputy Director General for European Policy. In June 2022 she was assigned Director-General for International and European Policy.
